Hi, I'm looking at securing and optimising my vps but having problems finding /etc/log.d/conf/logwatch.conf .. could someone point out where to find it pls? Also, it is CentOS 4.4 we're using right?

That's a path you're giving which is a location in itself. Are you saying it's not there? Or that you don't know how to get to it?
Your VZZ filesystem browser can get you there or SSH, change directory, then edit with vi.
If it's not there, you can go to your root and do a find command. My usual is "find . | grep filetosearchfor.txt" but from the root, that will be a grunt of a search.

I tried the find command and it was nowhere to be found though I found it easy to find other (unrelated to this post) files that I wanted to find.
I guess logwatch isnt installed on centos maybe? Any idea what log program is installed?
Am using winscp which I find alot easier to navigate the dir structure of my vps and edit my files and putty to run commands.
EDIT: I found where I can download logwatch, thx for your help, the find command is great :)

Try the following:
$ updatedb
Followed by
$ locate logwatch.conf
