    Datagrid?

One of the scripts I use, did an update, so I installed. I then had problems with errors. I contacted the script programmer, and he checked and said it was an issue with DATAGRID, and he turned the datagrid off. All is working now.

He said it was an issue on my end that DATAGRID was not working. I see other scripts use DATAGRID now. Is there something I need to change or install to get php DATAGRID to work correctly?

    Thanks!

I dont think it is anything in php core, atleast I have never heard of it and I try to stay up with changes

It is most likly some library that is not compatible with the version of php installed, i.e it is a php5.3 library but you only have php 5.2

Unfortunately this is one of, if not the most poor documented commercial library I have ever seen,

it is one thing for a Open Source lib to be poor documented but if your charging money for it, put some time and effort in to your docs people.

The Library is made by (Gurú Sistemas Ltd.) There is no requirements page, and no community forum, apparently they cant figure out how to stop spammers.....

If your paying for the scripts I would make your vender (the author of the script) contact them to find out what needs to happen to fix it. Or you can try contacting them directly

    Ask

1> What php version are compatible
2> Do I need any php extensions to be enabled
    etc

Alternately you can re-enable the plugin and post(or pm) the exact errors and I can debug further.

Wow, good research. I don't know why some script writers decide to use garbage like this. There is no reason for it.

That's vague stuff! I doesn't even bother to specify if it needs PHP 4 or 5 specifically.

They sell the script encoded, it states. So not having the right decoder installed could also be the cause of your issues. They don't state which one you need and I know there are at least two of those on the market. So.. good luck with finding out.

Note that such encoded source code tends to make debugging quite a nightmare, so you may well need those scriptbuilders to do that on your behalf.

You are so right on the money. I understand that the coders want to protect their work by encrypting the php, but the problem is, when the coder stops supporting it, or disappears, then it becomes a big problem fixing bugs or making changes when you have forum updates, etc.
