This was at 2 AM EST - almost six hours ago and the issue is still not resolved? Aren't these machined clustered?

No, our VPS nodes are not on cloud yet. All of them are single machines. The redundancy of the network backbone has no affect if the machine itself is down.
Oh, ok. I always thought about about "baron.nocdirect..." as a router, did not realize it was the actual server with the vms on it. Thanks for clarifying.
