pop up ads and incoming spam filter

    Hello,

I am considering buying a hosting plan with jaguarpc, and everything looks pretty cool, so I'm almost there anyway, I wanted to make absolutely sure about a couple of things I didn't find on the FAQ (I just don't want to have surprises later on):

    1) will jaguarpc put any ads or popup windows on my site for any of the plans (in particular, v100 and v200) ?

    2) is there a spam filter installed on my incoming email? can I eventually disable it or enable it on my own?

    Thanks, Ettore

I have the v200 and there are no popups or ads. There are a couple of spam tools that you can use or install in the cpanel (spam filters and spam assassin). I have not used them, however. It looks like a little homework might be in order before you use spam assassim. See these threads:

The only thing I would add is - don't get a v100 account. Get a v200 instead. v100 is a virtual account, so to speak...

No popups here. Just good, economical hosting.

Although he didn't go into details, I'd agree with Vin about picking the v200 over the v100. The v100 doesn't come with a unique IP address. This can limit what you can do with the site in a few cases, but the main thing is that you won't be able to access your site in your browser very easily for the first couple days , while you are waiting for your domain name to propagate. With the v200+ plans, you can access the site by IP address and see it the same as it will appear when a visitor uses your domain name. This can help you speed your development and iron kinks out before visitors start coming.
