    The Old Ticket System...

Going back to the days of Aletia, does anyone remember exactly what ticket system that was that they were running?

If I remember correctly, which I don't think I do, they where using something a worker there made!

but then again, maybe not, its all really relitive to how awake I am at the moment

Hmm, I thought they were using a purchased one and after that ended up writing their own (or maybe it was Jaguar who first wrote their own, I can't remember exactly when it took place)?

Yeah you may be right there, if I remember correctly they where having problems with it, lost ticks and such like that, and a guy who worked there wrote a better one!

I can't remember what the actually ticket system was that they where having problems with, but, you might be able to find it by doing a search on here (since all the posts where kept I think)

Jaguar used a home-grown script. They then moved to using a non-free script called Wonderdesk.

Aletia used a custom script that I think was written by Ron.

When we took over they were using the one Ron wrote, which I have buried somewhere in my archives.

We went from custom (very limited) to wonderdesk to the current one written by yours truly.

Ohh, is there any chance I might get a hold of the source of this current one? The general and expected response to such a question is generally 'NO,' so if that's the case that's OK.

When was Wonderdesk in use? I don't remember ever seeing it. Wonderdesk is rediculously expensive for it's unattractive UI and limited features.

I believe before the currant ticket system. Will Greg give you his
custom script? Thats a question only he can answer.

Oh yes, but I meant what point in time during administration (as in under Aletia or Jag, and whatnot).

    CeleronXL,
What features do you need in ticketing system?
There are quite a few open source projects available, too bad they all have poor accounting, but may be there is something that will work for you.

Nice job, Chief! I've been using it a lot the last few days.

I don't know if anybody informed you, but Chinamen have been attacking Neutron for the last 4-5 days with an .exe packer called Femot/Mofei --- at least as far as I can tell without bash.

It's been a fun time. I contact support. Support bans their IP's. Next night the commies are back again and we fire off another round. Here's the ticket number if you're interested: 2013225.

Anyway, nice ticket system! MUCH better than before!

EDIT: Oh, BTW, it's a W32 worm so... whatever... They've only crashed Neutron once that I know of - actually Apache - too many connections probably...

Okay, carry on. I'm not trying to hijack this thread or anything, blah, blah, blah...

Right now its heavily integrated into our other systems so no I cant give you the source...just too darn hard to split it apart from the rest.

I am in the process of rewriting it as well as man other things, it will be yours to use as a reseller when I have it segregated and rewritten.
