I started this project to make it easy for a musician friend in San Diego to demonstrate his guitar chops online, in an effort to form a new rock band. By having an embedded web music player on his own web page with some samples of his guitar playing, he could narrow down the selection/auditions/phone calls required to form his new band.

I decided to make it even more useful to both musicians and others, by adding 14 internet radio stations and the ability to play music CDs from the computer CDROM drive.

P.S. Before you tell me about Soundblox and Andromeda, I already knew about these before I started. Even though they look better and have more features, they are much too complicated to implement for the average musician with a web page. With the iTVfan embedded player, all it takes is inserting 3 lines of HTML code. On the down side, it probably will only work with MS Internet Explorer (as time permits, I'll convert it to Flash for greater browser compatibility.)
