    Blackice Vulnerability

    Hi all,

I know we have a bunch of techie-types here at the forum, and some of them may be running Blackice...

    Here is a quick synopsis...
A Slammer-like worm dubbed Witty is spreading, generating large amounts of network traffic and leaving ruined computers in its wake.

The worm, which appeared overnight Friday, exploits a weakness in the widely-used Black Ice security products, and is not detected by antivirus software, as it resides in memory. When an infected system is rebooted, Witty deletes a randomly chosen section of the hard drive, rendering some machines unusable.

Whats this, the fifth-sixth exploit of BlackIce? And people still use it?

I hear more bad stuff about BlackIce than good.

BlackIce sucks! ZoneAlarm Pro sucks too! Use the freeware version of ZoneAlarm and all will be good...

I've always used Norton Firewall, but last month I decided to give ZoneAlarm a try. I like what I've seen so far.
