Hotlink Protection doesn't work in most browsers?

So I just started setting up hotlink protection as per the jag control panel and found that it works differently in every browser i tried. All Mac:
    Safari- works fine
IE- shows the pic the user expects rather than the alternate they should
    Mozilla- shows a broken picture.

Any ideas? I need this to work. thanks!

I don't know what the cPanel protection involves, but I hear ppl complaining about it all the time, so you can probably forget about it.

On the other hand, I and others have offered numerous ways, in these threads, to prevent 'hotlinking' using .htaccess directives.

I would provide you with some links to these threads, but I'm busy as hell trying to get the 'Open Directory Project' working inside PHP-Nuke. I'm 90% there, and I need to keep trucking, before I lose interest. I suggest you use the search feature.

Do a search for 'hotlinking' and/or 'htaccess.'

Your correct. CP adds code to the .htaccess file for hotlinking. There are many rules in regard to hotlinking. You may need to modify what CP added to get it working the best for your specific needs.

Vin was only saying he did not know how CP handled this. He doesn't use CP. He was correct that there have been many post about this and different ways to write hotlink protection.
