    Where's everyone from?

I reckon whoever hosts from the farthest away should win a prize like a free year's hosting.

    I'm Leeds, UK

As an extension to that thought, does anyone know if there are any domain hosting issues with particular country extensions, and what is the iraqi domain extension?

The ISO abreviation for Iraq is IQ. In the past because of all of the sanctions on trading with Iraq it was hard for them to get any kind of technology infrastructure in place or to "farm out" domain registration to another company (such as is the case with the small countries that have the .cc and .tv TLDs), so they couldn't do much. Now that they are on track towards democracy (and capitalism), I suspect that we'll see .iq as a hot new TLD within the next few years.

As far as concerns, as long as the TLDs are available for registration and there are no regulations about where servers have to be located in order to use the a specific TLD, then I don't think there would be any problem with hosting here.

I'm in Rochester, NY. I doubt I'll win any awards for being near or far from the datacenter.

I live in the EXACT geographic center of Arizona, at EXACTLY one mile altitude, but I have several friends from Texass. I should get the prize for living so close to them...

C'mon, Vin, that was really lame. I won't quarrel with the first two but we don't raise sheep in Texas and we hang or shoot those who try.

I'm from Wack-o, myself, home of the Branch Davidians, Baylor University (you know, the Baptist school where the basketball players smoke dope and shoot each other), and daily Combat Air Patrol F-16 sorties while our president is at his ranch in Crawford. You just really have to love a town like this!

I remember taking the little 4 seater from Dallas to Waco... little bitty airplane... the "pilot" told us there was weather ahead, so he was gonna fly at 4,000 feet... I really enjoyed that! rockin side-to-side a little bit, seein' the cows... That's flying!

When I left I missed Waco... I missed getting up in the morning and wipin' the dust from my teeth.... missed the sport mosquito shooting. Missed the folks.

I remember the lady who met me at the "airport" She was all of 30, 'course I was a youngun' at the time, trying to make time with her. Asked her what kind of music she liked..

She said "I like the Texas Two-Step, and I guess all of that belt-buckle-shining music." Now she was good looking at 6 foot 2 and built for work... I just imagined her clamping her arm around the head of a cowboy and demanding "Let's Dance".

    I miss her, too.
