Is anyone useing Thunderbird as your e-mail client? I downloaded it today and looks like a good mail program. Very user friendly.
I'm wandering if Thunderbird has the same problems of OL in regard to exploits from hackers ect?

I have no idea, but I've been using it for a while now.
I doubt it. Nevertheless, if you set any email client to more conservative settings, you can eliminate the vast majority of email worms, viruses, exploits, etc. Try disabling HTML formatted mail, limiting mail preview windows, and disabling images and javascript in emails as a default configuration. Enable the desired feature only when you know you need it. You might be doing all of this already, and sometimes it's a bit inconvenient. But security trumps convenience.Originally Posted by clssam
I love my Thunderbird. It has some nice skins, it's pretty secure, it has a growing body of extensions and it's always improving. I use it as my default email client. Oh, it also has good support via the mozilla forums. Oh, and one more thing. It has very good junk mail controls and an extension that detects spoofed sites (hang on, that may be firebird - hmm - anyway, one of the two detects spoofed sites). It's like Christmas when they come out with a new release!![]()
For every human problem, there is a neat, simple solution; and it is always wrong.
