    ASP Support

I'm studying the ASP and PHP technologies and would like to practice with a few tutorials on my server space at JaguarPC.

    Three questions:

    1. How can I get set up support for ASP development on my server?

    2. How can I get set up support for PHP development on my server?

    3. Can both be setup on the same server and used at the same time?

    Thx,
    Don

PHP is set up on your server (thats if its hosted at jag)

ASP isnt cos - its a microsoft technology and requires IIS.

Jag uses Linux to host your sites and the only way you will get ASP support on Linux is to install ChilliSoft ASP.

Jag dont have Chillisoft ASP - not in the near future anyway.

I think once HostGUI finally comes out there will be asp support via Apache::ASP, but it requires that you use Perl to write your code. Most of the ASP code (and books) ou there use VBScript.

For learning ASP, have a loot at evolt.org. They are a web development community site and they offer free server space for practicing various technologies. The server offers support for server-side includes, Perl, Python, ChiliSoft ASP, ColdFusion, PHP, and MySQL. They don't want you hosting and mega-sites that are going to run up their bandwidth, but they give free space away to people who want to learn these technologies and do not have a place to do it.
