    Question Favorite CMS?

I won't ask for 'the best' CMS, as I'm sure there's no such thing, so please let me know what your favorite CMS is and why.

I suppose some of you will say "it depends on what you need it for...", and I can get into that, but if you have experience with CMS's you probably already have a favorite and a reason(s) why - so that information would be great (esp if you've used one or more in the past).

    Thank you,
    Mike

    I'm rather partial to PHP-Nuke...

I haven't found one I like. I think my favourite is thus to stop where "framework" turns "full blown CMS".

There's this little CMS program that I used before Wordpress started accomodating for "pages" called raSMP. It's made by someone that I personally know. There is no more development, but it's really great. http://www.rasmp.com/ (JaguarPC is his web host too. )

I started with Php Nuke, then Post Nuke, and finally Xoops. I've liked each one more than the previous. I'm slowly learning typo3, and I think I'll gell on typo3 and Xoops.

Haven't seen mamboserver. It's looking promising, perhaps an easier way to achieve what typo3 offers. Will have to keep my eye on this one.

it all depends on what your USE is, CMS is just a wide all encompassing genre . Which is why you have soo many projects

So you have to first nail down what your want in your site, and how you want to "manage" it, then find the CMS that will work best for you...

Thanks for the replies. After doing a lot of research and installing/testing some of the most popular CMS's, I decided to go with Mambo. It actually won the best open source project for the year at the linux convention thingy (sorry, no link). From my research, I would conclude that GENERALLY speaking (of course it may differ from project to project), Mambo is best for most projects (considering it's features and ease of use) while Typo3 is the a better overall CMS but with a much steeper learning curve.
