I'm floored! Speechless, actually...
If you have a computer that will handle it, and a broadband connection, you gotta get this!

It was over loaded with people just as that speedup proxy thing was.. I forget what that was called.
Heh! I spent HOURS on that thing last night. I was absolutely, positively, mesmerized!
I started in Arizona then 'flew' over to San Diego. There, I went up 'n' down the beaches, through the canyons, over the ports, et cetera - probably spent 2 hours there alone. The detail was astounding.
Like everything, it takes a while to get used to, but once you get a feel for the controls, and 'let it flow', Google Earth is mind-blowing.
I particularily liked the 'full screen' view, using the keyboard to move around.
Heh! It's a keeper!![]()

I can't download the program.
I tried worldwind, but it didn't work too great. It's just satellite picture from what I could see... Maybe my computer just sucks....
Despite what Zacrifice said, I think the google one is much better. With Google's you can zoon in closer and even get 3d renderings of building in certain cities, plus it can find businesses, landmarks, parks, and whatnot by name in many cases. Google's is faster, too, IMO.
Try downloading it first thing in the morning. I had no trouble grabbing it when I first got to work today.

you can zoom in on worldwind and see buildings and roads from all over the world.
The thing with google is I don't see what the use is for it????

Okay, here's the way I understand the situation...Originally Posted by Zacrifice
As you know, I'm sure, Google is a very progressive company, with a lot of forward thinking ppl. In this latest endeavor, they have decided to push the 'search engine' to a whole new level to interactivity.
They are going to take pictures of every building on Earth, combine it with local search results and driving directions, plus 3-D satellite imagery. So, say, you want to know how to get to the Landmark Restaurant in Mesa, Arizona. It will 'fly' you there, so to speak, right up to the front door...
