    Interworx

We have been giving serious consideration towards using Interworx instead of cpanel as our primary shared hosting environment. I would like to have users visit their site and try the demos. The spamassasin manager is just awesome as is the performance of the cp in general. Its also shipping with load balancing and clustering technologies which we may leverage in our network as well.

Myself, Eric, and Les had a chance to meet the CEO of Iterworx when he came to visit us here in Houston last week. This stems from a short encoutner with interworx we had in Chicago during hostingcon.

At any rate, please take some time to test it out and give us your feedback. If there are things you think it should have and is missing we have a direct line to the interworx developers to relay that info.

I can't find some features I have in Cpanel:

    - database backups
    - fantastico
    - subdomain statistics
    - hotlink protection

There's a thing called Scriptworx that acts like Fantastico. DB Backups are also available, and seem to be easier to setup than CPanel.

I still prefer CPanel, but it might be the habit.

Fantastico is a cpanel only product. A competitor of fantastico is working with interworx right now to add their installer to interworx, est 2 months from now until that release is out. Right now they have an integrated script installer called scriptworx.

I'll inquire about the other features you listed.

Overall it feels very responsive, even more so then cPanel. The UI is easier to navigate and to find items. I still prefer cPanel due to it offering more. Please don't replace WHM

Aside from use making interworx run on port 2082 and changing its skin, would anyone even know we stopped using cpanel? If I told you you were using interworx for a month now would you know the difference?

Any specific feedback why you prefer one over the other is really appreciated. Interworx will free up a lot of cpu which in turn means more power and resources for users, less clutter and headache for us, and more stability for us all. But if theres some big catch you guys find, just something definitive that says look dont switch because XYZ , we will listen.

Only ever having known CPanel, this one seems nekkid compared to CP but it might just be the mostly text only navigation and me being a very visual kind of person.

As for speed, it felt kind of slow to me compared to what I'm used to with CP, but my connection has been acting strange all day.

It kinda sounds like you guys have more or less made a decision already.

I like the layout of Interworx much better. It's nice having the menu options on the left of every page. With CPanel you get this cluttered main menu page with everything on it. If you're in a function, you always have to go back to the main menu then scroll to find the next thing you want to do. With Interworx, whatever you want to do is always there on the left -- no matter what page you're on.

Ok I'll be comparing good ole cPanel and not WHM.

Please correct me if I'm wrong or missing something.

1.) cPanel File Manager appears to be more robust and to offer more features.

2.) Opinion: I like that cPanel offers more info on the front page

3.) Opinion: I perfer the way cPanel displays MySQL info. More details.

4.) cPanel has wider variety of webmail apps.

5.) cPanel has a SSH client which I love for when proxies decide to block me. Otherwise I'll use putty or a linux/BSD SSH client.

6.) Stat offerings appear to be more robust.

7.) A few small other minor things (password protect dirs, error pages, etc)

Scriptworx looks promising but it has some time before it catches up with Fantastico (which I really like).

I like the iconic look of cPanel and everything on the front page. At the same time Interworx looks very clean and professional.

cPanel has a lot of market prescence and a lot of people use it and know it. Interworx looks like they have a solid product and I hope this product matures. I would be happy using Interworx on a shared account. Once again Fantastico is a great product and I hope Interworx can deliver on their promise.

Now WHM vs Interworx Server Mmgt. WHM wins hands down and then some. PLEASE don't take away WHM!

I would say you're pulling our collective leg or Interworx is just as slow as cPanel

    The link that Jag forgot

    http://interworx.info/demos.php

I find setting up and managing databases just a bit more of a pain in the @$$, but not too much.

Can't tell if it supports e-mail addresses for multiple domains. If it doesn't, I'm already against it. That's an important feature to me and I don't want to go back to using forwards or having to figure out a "hacK" the way we did with cPanel at first.

There is no backup option besides a site backup (or so it seems). I wouldn't mind having to do db backups from phpmyadmin, but the cPanel way is easier.

All in all, it does seem to be lacking. I wouldn't neccesarily object to Jag switching to this CP, but given the choice, I would not choose to switch. I think you guys should stick with a trusted and reliable choice, which is cPanel. Frankly, you seem to be asking us to give you a reason not to switch, if we can find one. I'm telling you that I see no reason to switch.

    Just my 2 cents.
