    Template Reselling? Legalities involved?

Okay, here's the question, and the lead-up:

After purchasing a couple of templates from sites like 4templates.com for $30 USD or so, I found a site that offered something like 10,000 templates for a one time fee of $30 USD. I bought the package, the site was legit, and many of the templates offered were the same high quality ones from these more expensive sites.

After reviewing the code of some of the designs, and looking through the zip and rar packages, I found that none of them offer any insight into the original designer at all.

What authorizes these sites to sell these? Is it as simple as setting up a site with the offering and selling away?

I'd be curious to know where you found all those good templates, I'm in the market for getting a few. As for legalities, that is a difficult issue, many of the free templates available online have code that links back to the designer of the template, they ask you not to remove it but that isn't enough to keep a large number of individuals from doing so .

    I dunno!

I used to know a guy that stole a bag of ice, everytime he walked out of a convenience store. It pissed him off that they were selling frozen water...

Well unless or until someone that did one of those ten thousand shouts about it or sues thats about the scope of it. If they just sit there all day making templates and then slap them up for sell theres nothing wrong about and so nothing authorizes them. If its them stealing templates or buying them elsewhere and selling them as a package then again theres nothing authorizing them to do so but unless its contested it will continue .

I would question if he was truly mad they were selling frozen water, or if he was just upset he didn't hink of it first.
