Unhappy Support, scripts, api and https n00b questions

I am at the point where I have 15 of my domains moved over to the server and am ready to complete my hosting/reseller domain development.

    Here are my primary questions:

    1) The “Free support ticket systems for use with your clients” – is that a reference to the ticket systems available through the Fantastico interface?

1a) If so - which system is the most compatible with [edit] JPC's [edit] and with the “Second tier (read email?) support from us for your clients”?

1b) Which ticket systems does everybody use?

    2) The “Free Enom Reseller account” – is that primarily for reselling domain names only?

    3) Reselling/Hosting scripts and api details: What’s available and how do I integrate it?

3a) Scripts for account auto-creation from my reselling domain (davidvdesign.com)

3a1) Currently I only have (that I’m aware of) a PayPal (Business) account to do my merchandising out of – the “Merchant account with great rates” <- What is that and how is it accessed if I would like to use it? I’m considering using commerce.cgi (http://www.commerce-cgi.com) on my side… any suggestions?

That’s most of my big questions at this point – feel free to point me to canned answers if they are available… I tried to be sure I had read the forums and support pages to get the answers before asking!

    Thanks for your help!

    Yes.

1a) If so - which system is the most compatible with your own and with the “Second tier (read email?) support from us for your clients”?
JPC's ticket system is a stand alone, in-house developed system. I don't believe there is any way to connect to it through something like an API, if that's what you're asking. For second tier support, you'd just open a support ticket on JaguarPC.com and copy in or restate your client's problem.

1b) Which ticket systems does everybody use?
I'm not a reseller, so I can't answer this one.

    2) The “Free Enom Reseller account” – is that primarily for reselling domain names only?
Yes, its main purpose is for selling domains, but Enom also offers several ancillary services, such as web monitoring, email only accounts, DNS services, and SSL certificates. You'd be able to resell any of those as well (althopugh some of them JPC has the ability to turn off from their resellers: for example, I'd assume that they don't allow you to sell Enom's web hosting since that's their primary business already).

    3) Reselling/Hosting scripts and api details: What’s available and how do I integrate it?
Jag just developed an API into JPC's system. You'll need to PM him to get access and details.

3a) Scripts for account auto-creation from my reselling domain (davidvdesign.com)
There are several packages to handle your front end reselling. Most of them connect to popular hosting platforms like WHM allow auto account creation, but you'll likely have some programming to do to use JPC's custom system. Perhaps another reseller can make some suggestions.

3a1) Currently I only have (that I’m aware of) a PayPal (Business) account to do my merchandising out of – the “Merchant account with great rates” <- What is that and how is it accessed if I would like to use it? Most of the packages I referred to above allow PayPal as a payment gateway. One thing you might consider is PayPal's Website Payments PRo, which integrates into your site so that clients don't know you're using PayPal. Another option is to set up a merchant account through JPC's provider, E-Online Data (https://www.e-onlinedata.com/jaguarpc) and interface with them through Authorize.net.

Welcome to JPC. I'm sure you (and, indirectly, your resold clients) will like it here.

    Thumbs up

Thank you for the great information and the welcome to JPC - I'm confident from my interactions with everybody (including my suprise visit to the JPC office last week when I got to meet Ryan) that I'm going to love it here

I was suprised to hear about this experience. We dont run a storefront and colo clients or folks taking a tour schedule an appt so it was different to hear we had a live visitor. I hope the encounter was a pleasant one and we look forward to seeing you around the forums.

It was great - Ryan is friendly, helpful, knowledgable and was able to resolve a lot of my issues before I even made it back to my computer

I like being able to meet the people that I'm doing business with - kind of an old fashioned attitude these days - for the knowledge that there is a human being on the other end of the IP address.

Hope I didn't shake things up too much - and I won't suprise anybody next time... I'll call ahead

I've discovered, if you have a beat-up clipboard, expensive-looking digital camera, and large measuring tape in hand, you can journey into the bowels of any business in Arizona unmolested. I'll bet I could walk into a bank vault, although I've never tried it. Evidently, Texas is the same...

I'm sure you could. However if you figure out how to walk out with more than the clipboard, camera, and measuring tape and not end up in prison let me know.

Actually - I had to wait in the foyer of the building for Ryan to come down from the JPC offices.

The security setup for the building is much better than many of the large corporate offices that I've been in.

Rest assured they do take security seriously at the building and that there is no way for an unauthorized guest to get past the armed guard that is just inside the door

Maybe if I'd had a beat-up clipboard, expensive-looking digital camera, and large measuring tape in hand? lol
