Funny ... just yesterday I removed it from my vps. Made Squirrel mail the only one available and downloaded some plugins I want to add.

Usually I am two steps behind everyone else. (puffs up chest 8-) )

I've always run SquirrelMail in my own web space, e.g. my own install. I ran it here before anyone heard of it. The cPanel version of SquirrelMail, that eventually came out, blows too, IMHO -- but I guess it's better than nothing...

Anyway, once you've setup your own install of SquirrelMail, it's a simple matter to redirect via .htaccess.

Here's the code I use in .htaccess:

    Code:
#Insure that any connection to SquirrelMail & phpMyAdmin uses a secure socket (SSL).
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/mail.* [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/phpMyAdmin.*
    RewriteRule ^.*$ https://SECURE_SERVER.nocdirect.com/~TARGET_USER%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L]
This is for shared servers with shared SSL certs, of course, but it should give you the idea...

    Thanks Vin,

I have a vps. I just updated and configured the "stock" cpanel version. That is the nice thing about a vps. Now all my users from all the accounts will have an updated - customized version of Squirrelmail. Well I changed the name of it too... haha Not called Squirrelmail any longer.

My old dos days are sure helping me learn Linux....

What are some of your favorite plugins you have installed? Did you install the html editor one?
