... And how is it possible you have the time for these... activities... with all the server moves and things going on?

Glad though that now that we at Aletia are also part of the Jaguar family we get to meet our brothers and sisters (nieces and nephews? aunts and uncles? )

...Ahhh. Take time ..pause ...think about those who inspire us.... and remember those who we inspire...

You are blessed with an adorable child. My daughter is 16

Enjoy worring about what they bump into when they are young brusies and bumps are easily fixed with a bandaid and a kiss ... Once they start to date what they could bump into causes hair loss and broken hearts are more difficult to mend

Congrats on the soon to be addition

    Thought Provoking

I came over to the JAG bd for an entirely different reason - then I saw your post. Your daughter is a beautiful child.

Your post and her picture reminded me of a profound post I found on another board and I thought I would share it with you. It definitely had an effect on me and I have no children. I can't imagine a parent reading it and not finding it thought provoking.

    WE PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN

    WHO SNEAK POPCICLES BEFORE SUPPER,

WHO ERASE HOLES IN THEIR MATH BOOKS,

WHO CAN NEVER FIND THEIR SHOES.

    AND WE PRAY FOR THOSE

WHO STARE FROM BEHIND BROKEN PANES OF GLASS,

WHO CAN'T RUN DOWN THE STREET IN BRAND NEW SNEAKERS,

WHO NEVER PLAY 'PAPER, ROCK, SCISSORS',

WHO WERE BORN IN PLACES WE WOULDN'T BE CAUGHT DEAD IN,

WHO_HAVE NEVER SEEN AN ELEPHANT OR EVEN A COW,

WHO LIVE IN AN X-RATED WORLD.

    WE PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN

WHO BRING US STICKY KISSES AND FISTS FULL OF DANDELIONS,

WHO HUG US IN A HURRY AND FORGET THEIR LUNCH MONEY,

    AND WE PRAY FOR THOSE

    WHO NEVER GET DESSERT,

WHO HAVE NO SECURITY BLANKET TO DRAG BEHIND THEM,

WHO WATCH THEIR PARENTS WATCH THEM DIE,

WHO CAN'T FIND ANY BREAD TO STEAL,

WHO DON'T HAVE ANY ROOMS TO CLEAN UP,

WHOSE PICTURES AREN'T ON ANYBODY'S DRESSER,

    WHOSE MONSTERS ARE REAL.

    WE PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN

WHO SPEND ALL THEIR ALLOWANCE BEFORE TUESDAY,

WHO THROW TANTRUMS IN STORES AND PICK AT THEIR FOOD,

    WHO LIKE GHOST STORIES,

WHO SHOVE THEIR DIRTY CLOTHES UNDER THE BED AND NEVER
    RINSE OUT THE TUB,

WHO GET VISITS FROM THE TOOTH FAIRY,

WHO DON'T LIKE TO BE KISSED IN FRONT OF THEIR FRIENDS,

WHO SQUIRM IN CHURCH AND SCREAM INTO THE PHONE.

WHOSE TEARS WE SOMETIMES LAUGH AT

AND WHOSE SMILES CAN MAKE US CRY.

    AND WE PRAY FOR THOSE

WHOSE NIGHTMARES COME IN THE DAYTIME,

    WHO WILL EAT ANYTHING,

WHO GO TO SLEEP SCARED AND WAKE UP AFRAID,

WHO HAVE EVERYTHING AND YET NOTHING AT ALL,

    WHO AREN'T SPOILED BY ANYONE,

WHO GO TO BED_BROKEN AND CRY THEMSELVES TO SLEEP,

WHO LIVE AND MOVE BUT HAVE NO BEING.

WE PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN WHO WANT TO BE CARRIED,

AND FOR THOSE WHO MUST BE.

FOR THOSE WE NEVER GIVE UP ON, AND

FOR THOSE WHO NEVER GET A SECOND CHANCE.

    FOR THOSE WE SMOTHER

AND FOR THOSE WHO WILL GRAB THE HAND OF SOMEONE
    KIND ENOUGH TO OFFER IT.

    _

After reading it, I felt compelled to add a few of my own prayers to that list.

I pray that when the children whom we pray for today reach adulthood ...

that many of he categories on that list will no longer exist.

I pray that the 15 million Aids Orphans of today survive into adulthood and when they do, they will not have to pray for future generations of Aids Orphans, because there won't be any.

I pray for all the children killed and maimed by wars started by the adults.

I pray for all the innocent children who while playing or toiling in order that their families might survive have been killed or maimed because adults have planted land mines or left behind unexploded ordnance with seemingly little thought about the children who will discover and be injured or killed by it.

I pray that this generation comes to the true realization that we are but temporary caretakers of this planet with an obligation and a duty to pass it on to the next generation, the children of today, in at least as good a condition as it was when we assumed that responsibility.

I pray that mankind realizes that all the positive changes necessary in order for the world to becomes a place where all children will be special and nutured will not magically happen because of their prayers or through intervention by God, but only through their own selfless deeds dedicated to a better and safer world for their children and their children's children.
