    Question Subdomains & Root

    Hi,

I am currently working on a new version of an existing site.

Is there a way for me to create a dummy/test directory which will act like another root directory so that I can test my new site as if it were in the root (without actually mixing the 2 sites's directories together)?

For ex: can I create a subdomain:

dev.mysite.com - which will act as if it were: mysite.com.

The whole point is that I would like to specify certain hrefs starting from the root dir.

    Thanks -

Yes, you can do it just as you said. By creating a subdomain. You can also create a FTP account with the same name as the subdomain then when you log into that FTP account you'll start out in the root of the subdomain.
