What is going on here?

I am getting really annoyed with the performance of the servers here. This is the second month that my site periodically becomes unreachable and I keep getting error messages from my rss feed monitor when the site disappears. This is making me wish I hadn't renewed my account. I can't even update my blog when I want to because the darn site is missing in action AGAIN!

there are many many reasons for a web site to become unreachable, some of them are out of Jag control.

Also if your new here your probally on a new server, new servers, for any budget host, are the most unstable. This is because new accounts are always being added and people that abuse system resources have not been weeded out as of yet. My server, that I have been on for a couple of years, has no down time. I can think of one time in the last year that I had a problem and that was less than 5mins

I have the same problem and I use VPS.

VPS's are a whole differant beast. there could be many reasons for your outage, some of them, could be jags part. some could be yours.

VPS's have far less reasources than shared account most of the time, in a shared enviroment you have the whole server in a vps you kept to just a fraction of it, except it is "burstable" but if the other accounts are using all of there reasources, there is none for you to burst to. So my question is, did you buy enough resources or are you expecting the burstable reasources to always be avaliable?

The problem is reliability, this year has sucked and it doesn't seem to be ending. From my perspective it's getting worse.

I referred my friends here and they are on different servers and they are complaining to me about not being able to view their sites. So I'm not only upset about my own problems but theirs too.

I have stuck it out here in the past when things weren't functioning well, and I seriously need to figure out if I should stay here this time around.

Have you tried to find the source of the problem?

If you want to switch hosts, do it, I have a feeling you will be wishing you did not, unless your willing to pay more.

Why dont you post the problems your having and how support has responded?

How do you know Ron can not help you? For sure he can't if you continue to say things as you said above.

There are many things that can be done to see what the problem is if you provide some data and skip the personal comments.

Perhaps. Or maybe some are telling you the cold, brutal truth and it is you, via any profanity laden responses indicative of an agitated state, who doesn't like to hear it. Either way, it's a bad reflection of your persona even if you strive for it. Or it's a good reflection of your persona especially if you strive for it. Again, either way.

I am not really an asshole even on these forums, infact I feel I am quite helpful, I am just not "refined" or "restrained" in my critcism or my reaction to stupid people who just want to piss and moan

I say what I want, when I want, with out consideration of anyone else. I do that both online and offline.

Ancient, I couldn't agree more with you. People piss and moan and after 5 pages of crapping on they are yet to answer a single question from a helping hand, or take the hand that is offering to help them. I feel no pity as the problems they have they are willing to live with, as for some stupid reason in their mentally warped world pissing and moaning is actually doing something about it.
