how many accounts, How Much Space, what kind of Interface, how much bandwidth, etc etc etc etc etc

But provided the features are right, yes I think it would be a good product to offer.

    mmhmmm bandwidth my dear man.
I recieve thousands of emails a month, and many more thousands of spam.

Most emails are under 1mb however I get one or two over 1 or even 2 mbs per day.

That takes up a lot of bandwidth.
It also requires a lot of space for when I can't collect the email daily (ie, on holidays for two weeks)

Sure it is not much, but I have seen cheap email only hosting with stupid limits on it like "50mb" and crap like that... or even worse the vague "excessive bandwidth"

What is you get a Software company that uses your services for Distbution by email?

    Just throwing it out there....

You might want to look a service I have been thinking about getting, it is back email system that does not allow you to get the mail, but in the event of a mail server failiur this system will accept the mail from the sender, que it, and keep tring your main mail server when that server comes on line all the qued mail is sent.....

the_ancient might be on to something there... I recently started using Gmail for domains, and have really enjoyed the benefits. The accounts can be hit with a standard POP3 reader, and still store all your mail online where it is accessible via the standard Gmail interface.

There are limits, but I can live with 'em... 2G online storage, only 25 individual accounts, etc. But for a small business, the free service is almost unbeatable. I'm trying to figure out a way to archive the messages nicely every few weeks/months, but Google hasn't added anything like a bulk download or zipping/tarring at this point.

But I would be interested in reselling email-only accounts. The trouble I see is building up a cache of domains for clients to use as a 'bonus' for using some shared hosting space.

Then again, I guess I'd wonder why they'd want that if I could simply use a subdomain... hmm...
