One for troubleshooters - incredibly pudding-like web response off Nitrogen ..

    Hi all -

I've got a longhorn account on Nitrogen. After Masood's announcement yesterday that it was now PHP5 enabled, I thought I'd better try it out. However all day today I've been unable to get anything like reasonable web response out of Nitrogen from where I'm accessing it (down here in New Zealand - yes I know the traffic has to travel uphill yada yada!).

    What's weird is that:
    1) I can access Cpanel on that machine fine
    2) I can access SSH on that machine fine
    3) I can access a friends site on another Jag box fine (Poseidon)
    4) I can access other US-based websites fine
    5) Support tells me the sites under my account are working OK from their end, and I can use Lynx via SSH to access the pages from my account OK

    BUT

even a simple one-line HTML page like http://www.lightblox.com/iabprojects/test.html takes minutes to download .. if it ever does!!

Any suggestions ... this is starting to bug me! Anyone else on Nitrogen having issues?

    Cheers

hmmm, its working fine here in Australia (Via Bigpond)

If you still haven't found a problem on the server side by the time you read this, you might want to try clearing you cache.

It could perhaps be a problem on your ISP's side that just happened to coincide with the PHP5 upgrade.

Access to the other services are on different ports, however the fact you can access other sites fine makes me think it might be something else...

So I haven't been much help at all.

    Lightning fast in Arizona!
    missing <!DOCTYPE> declaration

Cause:A DOCTYPE Declaration is mandatory for most current markup languages and without one it is impossible to reliably validate a document. The DOCTYPE defines the version of the document like : HTML 4.0.1, XHTML 1.0, 1.1, ...

Solution:Please place a DOCTYPE declaration as the very first thing in an HTML document.
