Could you guys check out my chat app

    http://jchat.nvida.net/index.php?opt...jchat&Itemid=6

Just try it out and let me know that it is all working properly - works fine for me, but this is the internet and every man and his dog seems to have a different browser / os configuration!

Thanks a lot if you can pop buy and give it a run

No it is a AJAX web application just like chat rooms - just visit the URL, it is web based no need to install anything. Have a play around and see if it works ok. No need to register just log in as a guest.

It is working good for me on opera / ie6 / firefox - but a few people say it doesn't work so I am just trying to get to the bottom of things.

Please inlcude your browser version in any comments - oh and if you are running ie7 I would like to know cause I haven't got it - well I have an old standalone version and JChat worked ok with it, so I am wondering if the new version works ok as well...

Thanks and I like yoo too

Thanks Ancient... now this is what I am getting at, some people say it works, others say not... maybe it's a usability thing, i.e. users have to click on the "rooms" tab and choose a room to kick things off so maybe some don't realise this...

Yes, that was the problem. The front page could perhaps have a screen that starts:

    WELCOME TO JCHAT at example.com
To begin chatting, click on "rooms" above and select a room.

If you'd like to try JChat for your self, download blah blah blah
But when I went to your URL and logged into chat, what hit me in the face was:
    Download JChat now
And my reaction was ... No thanks.
    Good luck

Thanks Ron - I will apply your advice in a few minutes.

@Jag - Thanks, this was what I was trying to acheive The main thing was to get the wysiwyg working as most web based chats I have seen do not apply images / emoticons, etc in realtime so I am hoping this give me the edge.

The admin section JChat is really cool as you can apply permissions to control room access and assign moderators to police the rooms - moderators can ban or kick users from the rooms that they have been assigned moderator status.

    Nice work...

I think if you created a 'simple' integration to the different forums/cms's, you'll definitely have a good number of sales.

Does not work at all for me.

Maxthon 1.5.8 (build120) Unicode using IE7 engine. Perhaps Proximitron - my proxy filtering system is messing it up but I tried again bypassing all filters and it still did not load.

Is this some kind of custom browser?

Yes I plan to do this - it is currently running as a component for the Joomla! CMS

In fact if you find the bug being discussed, made some customization changes I have in mind, Id pay you more than what your asking for something I have in mind. Err, that sounded cryptic.

Basically I have an idea and a possible need for this and to expand it.
