probably a stupid question.. concerning mutliple sites on one host..

so I asked jag to add a different site name to my account, so I can just host it with the same account.

seemed to work fine. But how do i build the site??

i still only have one "public_html" file, with a subfolder for my new site's name... with nothing pretty much in it.

how am I supposed to run a diff site off that? maybe i missed something.

sorry for being such a nooB.

It is called a multihosted domain. What support most likey did was create a subdomain for you called siteb.sitea.com (where sitea is your main domain and siteb is the new domain. They then pointed siteb.com at that name.

Just put the content for the new site in the "sibeb" directory inside of public_html. Then try going to www.siteb.com and see what happens. Assuming the DNS is set up properly it should resolve.

For future reference, there is a feature in your cPanel that lets you can add multihosted domains yourself--just enter the domain name and click submit. (FYI: In order to do this the domain name has to be already pointing to JPC's DNS when you add it in cPanel, so if you are moving an existing site it is best to have support set it up manually.) If you have the Longhorn plan or current SDX offering you get unlimited multihosted domains.

There are also parked domains, which you can also add in cPanel, that will point to your main website (public_html). These are useful when your own several variants of your main name (like com, net, and org).
