    Talking I Have a "YouTube" Question :-)

A friend of mine uploaded a funny movie clip on YouTube of himself and I'm wondering if there's a way I can download that clip to my computer from YouTube.. if so, how?
I right click my mouse but it only saves it as html (saves the link only).
I want the video downloaded not the path

    Any other way?

    Thanks

If you're using Firefox, all you have to do is install the VideoDownloader add-on -- works great -- I use it all the time...

    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/

This will save the video[s] to your local PC in FLV format.

    Then...

You will need a FLV player to watch it on your PC -- your pick.

    My pick: http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/...player-updated

    Or...

You can simply stream it from your web site -- your choice.

    My choice: http://flowplayer.sourceforge.net/

Your reply told these gals nothing, as usual!

You misspelled the name of the add-on!

Plus, Firefox is abbreviated Fx -- not FF...

I tried the ff/fx vdeio downloader extension.
It installed fine but won't save the video that I want to save, which is in flv format. It saves a dinky little 34k file with a .swf filename.

It's not reading the javascript on the page properly.
    Good luck

I could explain that, but it would require some rambling.

    Better ask the Grand Poobah...

Actually I think either post would be considered helpful. One just provided a little more detail.

In regard to the abbreviation. I would recognize FF but probably not Fx.

    RTFM

    Source: http://www.mozilla.org/support/firef...ell-abbreviate
How do I spell Firefox? How do I abbreviate it?

Firefox is spelled F-i-r-e-f-o-x - only the first letter capitalized (i.e. not FireFox, not Foxfire, FoxFire or whatever else a number of folk seem to think it to be called.) The preferred abbreviation is "Fx" or "fx".
