Your users for a subdomain don't have access to the cp unless you give them your login/password. Subdomains don't come with their own cp. And there isn't a way to set a max amt of storage for each subdomain, that's something you'd have to keep an eye on.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    Glo's got it right, everettangel.

The pricing structure at a place like Jaguar (or Aletia, or anyone else) is such that the site is meant for one person. You can kind of think of it like your house: entry is for anyone you trust, and once in, they have the full run of the place.

You can become a "landlord", and open a reseller account. These are more expensive, but in a large part due to the increased potential for profit on your part and the increased support that will need to be provided. The "in-bewteen" solution is for each person to simply get their own site. True, that wouldn't be a true mutli-user solution like you're looking for, but then it's not meant to be.

If it's friends of yours that you want to give access to, then you might want to consider some sort of arrangement where they help with the "rent". You won't be able to enforce security, like you ask, but then it's the mutual trust that should be more important anyway. If you're worried about them goetting into your things or exceeding the bandwidth limits, then they might not be the ideal roommates. (All this is without getting into possible custom html upload/download solutions, which also would have complications.)

    Good luck on your decision.
