Question e-commerce and Aletia move questions

We have a couple of Aletia accounts recently transferred to new servers. Questions:
Will we continue to have CPanel as our admin interface, and the same scripts? I'm particluarly interested in whether the shopping cart script will change.

What is the secure page address for iridium? (this is where both of our accounts were moved)

If we set up a secure order page, will its address look like one of our pages (www.mydomain.com/secure.htm) or like we are under another domain (www.whatever.com/~mydomain)?

Is the issuer of the certificate used for secure pages recognized by most browsers, without any "warnings"?

I'm not sure what shopping cart was available on the Aletia servers, so I can't answer that question. The new server will use CPanel still, however, and I believe the Aletia clients will continue to use the same skin, so it will still look the same.

As for secure URL's, it will be either https://secureXX.u-build-it.net/~USERNAME or https://secureXX.nocdirect.com/~USERNAME. Check the network status page for the exact name for your server. The certificates are issued by Comodo (http://www.instantssl.com). They are relatively new to the cert market, so some browsers won't recognise them, but they claim to be something like 95% or 99% compatible.

If you want, you can buy your own cert from whomever you want and have the JPC staff install it for you. That way you can use your own domain name and not have to worry about the compatibility issues.

Thanks for the response, Jason. I've looked at the network status page at http://jaguarpc.com/network2.php but the majority of servers, including iridium, don't have secure addresses listed. Maybe those will be updated eventually.

gig, that should indeed be the case. I have a ticket open on the subject and apparently they haven't installed the SSL on all the servers yet, which is why the info is missing.

It should appear on the network page as soon as they are installed.
