    We do not provide refunds on dedicated or VPS servers, the 30 day money back guarantee only applies to our shared hosting accounts.

    They got me with that one too when I first signed up to test a VPS out. Very misleading! But in the end its my fault for not understanding that only a SHARED HOSTING account can be classified as a "Reseller Account".

    Wait, I'm reselling on my VPS.... strange how that works.

    I wonder if I can do that on SDX and dedicated too? Maybe even colos might be able to be resold!? Wow, blows your mind doesn't it...

    I dont Understand why it is not extended to VPS, Dedicated I can understand, VPS I cant,

    Regaurdless you NEED TO, revise the written policy to reflect this, I had to read it TWICE to see the exclusion, this is Misleading to clients and it not how the JPC I know and love operates, if JPC has to reduce itself to this level .... Well it is a sad sad day.

    You have to take into considertion the time involved in setting up a vps server, there are VZ license fees, and control panel license fees, that are not refundable to us.

    We by no means are trying to mislead anyone, and it is clearly stated that it is for shared hosting accounts only.

    I've never looked before, but Jim I disagree with what you just said.

    On the home page there is a graphic that reads 30 day money back guarantee. Further more on this page http://www.jaguarpc.com/vps-hosting/index.php and I quote

    Where does it say that the VPS is not covered by the 30 day guarantee?

    I understand why there would not be a guarantee on these plans due to the set up cost involved, but it seems to me the information needs to be changed. It is misleading.

    I also question this statement:
    JaguarPC has been providing VPS hosting services since 1998.
    I've started hosting here in 2001 and I don't think VPS was an offer at that time.

    Don't take my comments in the wrong way. I do not think Greg would intentionally mislead anyone. I have a feeling that with all the updates and new services that have taken place over the years, a copy and paste is done with a few changes to reflect the new service, and no one takes the time to really read the entire statement.

    They must've had all the web development guys stuck in a room working on Nixcore for a LONG while! Stop the bawls and hot-pockets for a few days and have them update the site Jag!

    One would think accuracy on the 'website' of an "internet" company would be a priority...

    I'd guess that was a converted sales promo line from the hosting company that was just acquired. I'd think if it were true at the old company, the claim carries forward after the acquisition.

    However Jag ought to honor the 30 day money back guarantee for this customer and change the site appropriately, in my personal opinion.

    No doubt that this is true.

    Nonetheless, and without knowing the signup date for rogerco's VPS and any user's agreement superceding the website ad that was presented during the service purchase, it would seem that JaguarPC's presentation was misleading.

    To be fair, Ron has offered a very reasonable suggestion. The ad is misleading and I could see how one might misunderstand the sales contract. Change the website ad and return some (if not all) of rogerco's payment.

    These are Considered "Cost of Doing Business". With any money back program there will be costs incurred that is the gable you make when you offer such a program

    "Clearly" is not the word I would use to describe the written policy, further as my fellow forum members have pointed out several areas of the web site contradict the actual policy page

    Is there a policy page? I don't see one. I only saw what was on this page http://www.jaguarpc.com/vps-hosting/index.php. Guess I'm overlooking something.

    I have to admit, I think it is strange that no one from Jag has responded to this thread since the errors were pointed out in regard to the refund policy. At this time the wording on that page has not changed.

    The TOS page is still on the site, but after the last series of changes it has become too hard to find IMHO. It's not mentioned in the menu itself anymore, but links to the policies show up on the left if you go to a page in the Why Jag section.

    Anyways I agree there are some very missleading information regarding this, it's hard to know what you should and should not expect as at several places information controdict other information.
