Post Where have all the eBay ads gone?!?!?

I don't know about you guys, but I do a LOT of comparison shopping via Google!

For instance, let's say I'm looking for a XFX GeForce 7600 GT video card w/black PCB, such as...

    http://www.google.com/search?q=gefor...dd&sa=N&tab=fw

    or...

    http://www.google.com/products?q=gef...Search&show=dd

Until recently, eBay entries always came up in the Adword sidebar (kind of an annoyance actually) and I wondered if something was going on.

    Sure enough...

GOOGLE power 'less than thought' as EBAY starts boycott...

    Interesting read!

If google was smart they would start thier own version of ebay and blow them out of the market

Ebay sucks from both a Sellers and Buyers perspective, they are only as big as they are because no one has come up to compete, yet......

I would not be surprised if that was not in the works. Right now you can list products for sale without a website, through Google Checkout.

Theres lots of auction sites out there that have tried to compete for years. The problem is none of them are even as good as ebay sadly enough. Ebay has been around and in part is responsible for the success of the internet in the early years. Ebay, yahoo, hotmail, and then came google. Id love to see a real useful auction site thats not litered with useless auctions.

Seriously, when is the last time you got something from ebay that was actually a bargain, not over priced, not part of something being scalped, didnt have insanely inflated shipping to cover the difference in the "cheap" price of said item, or something along those lines?

    ebay is rather useless imho

Greg, the ONLY reason Ebay is still alive is that they were the First, they were the Biggest and now they have the Bankroll to Keep themselves on top.

However I think Google's bank account is a weee bit bigger..

I do agree that ebay is useless. I have watched auctions many times and see thing end up selling for more than what they cost at Best Buy, let alone getting them from some place like New Egg or another discount place

    People are stupid
