DISCLAIMER Any resemblance between the views expressed above and those of the owners and operators of this system is purely coincidental. Any resemblance between these views and my own are non-deterministic. The existence of Vin DSL is questionable. The existence of views in the absence of anyone to hold them is problematic. The existence of the reader is left as an exercise in the second-order coefficient.

@ Matt - No, it's another nail in MS Office 2007's coffin!

Office 2007 is okay, but MS purposely made it incompatible - even with earlier versions of MS Office.

Ppl are getting tired of this B.S. and getting off the MS Merry-Go-Round...

IBM and others are just making the transition away from MS Office easier by giving it up for free!

Personally, I'm still using MS Office 2000 (8-years old, but still works on Vista) and StarOffice - available free now on Google Pack: http://pack.google.com/

That pretty much covers it all for me, as it stands today...

office 07 is ok... not quite a big fan of the ribbon scheme, supposed to make things easier but it i still prefer the older versions of office... i personally use office 03 and do not plan to upgrade anytime soon

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.

My scripts never have bugs. They just develop random features.

The more I use it the more I like it. Publisher just is not Pagemaker / Indesign hard to make that switch.

Outlook is very nice and I am actually using the scheduling features now! Very nice indeeed. No excuses for missing a meeting now.

Actually, it's really compatible with the older versions. Saving to older formats is a snap, and you can export to PDF rather easily (yeah, you've got to install a plugin, but it's free and takes less than five minutes).

Do you do anything more than writing letters with it? Any DB's or spreadsheets? Is it any good at DTP?

Office 2007 is indeed backwards compatible. Matt the pdf plugin is very nice I use it all the time. Never EVER thought I would ever like Office, I still do most of my work in Pagemaker though.
