If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.
My scripts never have bugs. They just develop random features.
Jag updates the forum fairly often. It seems with every update it does break some part of the forum or theme though but we usually get fixed in short order.

vBulletin's latest version is 3.6.8 while the current version for JaguarPC Forum is 3.6.4 - any reluctance to do that upgrade?
No reluctance. The only reason for delay is we have to make sure we have time to fix whatever breaks with the update. Things have been pretty busy lately and the forum update took a back seat for a while.

I might mention...
A lot of times, these login problems happen because ppl don't logout!
The way it's supposed to work is... You visit the forums - login - do your thing - logout.
What ppl tend to do is login - do their thing - and stay auth'ed... and some of these cookies don't expire until 2038, or whatever.
Sure, this is a security risk, but what the heck?!?!? It saves you a few seconds...![]()
The biggest problem for ppl that play this game is when someone updates a proggie and changes the cookie[s]. If you're already auth'ed, you cannot logout or login...
Assuming this is what happened to you, the best thing to do is wipe your cookies, your cache, your HTTP auths, et cetera - close your browser - open your browser - then, try to login again.
If you've done all this, and you still cannot login, the problem is on the server-side.![]()

Understandable. thanks for the explanation. I had wondered if you guys had the inside scoop on difficulties doing the upgrade and were holding off til another version. I had delayed my upgrade hoping for some stability but with the latest vulnerability I guess I'll have to bite the bullet. No reluctance. The only reason for delay is we have to make sure we have time to fix whatever breaks with the update. Things have been pretty busy lately and the forum update took a back seat for a while.
I wouldn't mind if the Jag Forum reverted to a basic vBulletin format if it made it easier to upgrade. After all, it is really just a framework for discussion. On the other hand some may disagree with me and prefer the custom appearance.
ya vin.. i have firefox set to auto clear everything upon exit.. also ive tried on a couple computers and no luck.. all do the same thing.. i emailed the admin to see whats up
