Argh, sure would be nice of someone would post an Emergency Maintenance thread or something to let me know what the heck is going on with Alatar. The Network Status page is showing red X's all the way across, and I am getting antsy.

I feel a little better that the Network Status page now shows a red X only for Cpanel, however I still can't access email and my websites show a "Fedora Core Test Page". I would be more at ease if a JPC-person would utilize the Server, Network, and Service Announcements forum to keep me posted with what is going on.
sigh, at least i"m not the only one...
Server is currently down and our techs are working on the issue. Please hold on.
wait for it.......................
So it's been DOWN FOR 10 HOURS, and the only update is
"There is some issue at the server "alatar.nocdirect.com" and our techs are working on it.We hope to fix the issue soon,We appreciate your patience."
Completely unacceptable. I've been a Jag customer for years (one of the ole' Aletia boys), and this is one of the worst handled downtimes i've ever seen.
And to take it one step worse, we were supposed to have an ad contract start today. We may very well lose it because of this downtime.![]()

Support isn't of much help either - (withholds long winded expletive-filled rant)..
My latest ticket reply...
"We will update the forum thread as soon as we get an update."
At this point, I've seen NO signs that the server is still running, or that our data is even closely intact. Frankly, I just don't have time to do a massive restore right now. All support will tell is that they will update us as soon as they get it working.
I want a timeline, and I want to know if I'm going to have to dedicate days to fixing this crap.![]()

It looks like it may be back up, I don't *think* we've lost any data. As far as I can tell we've still got everything..
I just turned my computer on for the first time today and got the error message from my website monitoring service. Looks like it went down about 11 hours ago.
I see things are working now.
I understand the techs need to work on the problem and not waste their time posting updates, but I agree with you DFAlpha, after and hour or so of downtime, an update would go a long way to help us keep our patience while they work on the problem.
Yes, that is my point. I was also migrated in from Aletia, and have been through a few minor down times. Of course "stuff" happens and servers will go down occasionally, so it's not like I'd think about looking for another hosting provider. However, taking a moment to post an announcement that there is a known issue that is being worked on provides comfort to customers who cannot access their account. When the downtime is lengthy, periodical updates are helpful. It's like when your loved one is being worked on in the Emergency Room for hours and you're stuck in the waiting room wondering how close they are to death because nobody is telling you what is going on.
At this time everything seems to be working and I can finally use my email, however I am wondering when or even if I will receive the email from the previous 12 hours.
