    Vista

Just though i would open a topic on this.

I have had vista running one of machine since RC1 and have no major problems, well apart from nvidia creating a driver that cause the screen to have inverted colours.

I mean you hear people moaning on and on about. I mean one guy cam into our shop moaing about it so i said bring it we will have a look at it for it. Hebought the oldest machine ever how he actuall managed to install vista i am unsure of.

I have Vista on two machines, my desktop and my tablet pc... I love it... I would not consider running it on less than 2GB of RAM though...

I am tired of people complaining about stuff that does not work with Vista, I have not had any problems with software compatibility, other than an old version of PuTTy... I was told when I bought my laptop that I needed to buy a Microsoft Office 2007 package if I wanted that because my 2003 won't install on Vista, which I knew was BS because I already had it on my desktop...

I believe this whole 'you need new software to use vista' thing is just a conspiracy with the software manufacturers and the retailers... I believe that if a salesman can talk someone into buying the new software because 'they said the old one won't work' then they get some sort of raise or something because half the time I have to prove them wrong in front of everybody around because they simply don't know what they are talking about...

And while on the conversation of not knowing what they are talking about, don't you hate when you call Tech support and they tell you to do something, which you KNOW is wrong and you must correct them? I had to call Comcast the other day to resolve a connection problem and they told me to hit start > run > and type command, which has been phased out since 9x and now on XP it is simply cmd and not command and on vista it is just simple open start and type cmd... I just love to correct them though

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.

Endless trail and error contine for about half an hour untill they are satisifed.
Tech: i have sen your modem a singnal and it is receving it fine.
Me: Yes but as you have seen i am still no on the internet and at 60p a minute can you just send me a new modem please.

Oh so true! I hate when I call to get support for something and they sit there doing useless steps and half the time I don't even follow along because they are so pointless... But what I really hate is when they are reading off of a Knowledgebase, and half the time you can view the KB on the manufacturers website and can predict the next thing they are going to say...

HAHAHA! I like to correct them as well... I really like embarrassing people in the store though! I don't look like the type that knows what he is talking about, and when they start trying to tell me something I know is wrong I just make them feel stupid

They normally make a fool of Joanne who owns the shop, becuase she sells computer/everything to do with them adn they start explain something and she will be like yeah and stuff, but she hasn't got clue what she is talking about. And normally just goes Rick can your sort this customer out i have to make a phone call.

    OR

There is the type of customer that thinks he know what he is talking about and really has not clue and you talk uter rubbish and they take it all in. Like one i started going on about A level maths becuase this was going on about something theat was complete un ture.

Hahaha... You see, where I live, I have to drive an hour to go to any sort of electronics/computer store, except radioshack with is worthless and expensive half of the time, so I don't have the pleasure of correcting or spoofing them very often, so when I do get to, it makes it even more worth the drive... mwahaha

Oh, and another reason why I don't like driving that hour very often:

Gas is at about $3.50 per gallon now and with my pickup, I am lucky to get 12-15MPG so it is quite costly to go anywhere that isn't local...

Anyway, off to bed... At the hour I've got to be up for work in the morning I can't believe I am still up this late

You do understand that for anyone in the US to get anywhere it is like crossing your entire country?

My Dad is 40 miles away, that's considered close. My brother is 70 miles and my sister is 190 miles.
    Good luck
