I have a Sprint EVDO card in my tablet... Works great!
If you are looking into it to replace your dial up, Frank, be sure to read the TOS to be sure that there isnt a usage cap like Satellite... I don't remember if there is or not... Sprint also sells a linksys wireless router for the pcmcia EVDO cards as well
I know a friend that has a verizon card and he is always complaining about lag and slow uploads... I haven't ever used one though...

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.
My scripts never have bugs. They just develop random features.
I used a Verizon EVDO on the demo model of the lappy I bought (at Circuit City) and it sucked - all laggy and sh!t, just like your friend is complaining about!
What would happen is, you would click a link, and it would just sit there, and sit, and sit - then, boom, here it came. Next time you clicked on something, same thing! That would drive me nuts!
I asked the Verizon rep about it, and she just kinda looked at her shoes, and changed the subject...

Nearly bough one once not really very poplar over here.
I got mine simply because I like to go downtown and hang out while I am working... We have a lot of places in my town where you can just go, have a nice view, and get something done without the 'hustle and bustle' of the office...

My girlfriend's father and stepmom do travel nursing a couple times a year and live out of their RV. They have a laptop with a Verizon EVDO card and it seems to work great (at least in upstate NY). They were staying out in the middle of nowhere between Utica and Albany and they had strong signals (at least they did when I used it).
I've only had about 15 minutes of experience with the service, though, and I've only used Verizon's version, so I can't offer a fair opinion.

That would make sense - that's what it *felt* like!
GFs, stepmoms, living on the lamb in RVs... guess that says it all...
IMHO, Sprint is like dealing with the devil. I'm surprised they didn't pick him!
Maybe it all depends in which level of hell you reside...

Why is Sprint bad to deal with Vin? I did get Verizon and will get it installed as soon as I get home and see how she works. It was EVDO or satellite.
You'll have to ask J.D. Powers...![]()

My Sprint problems went like this...Overall Customer Care Index Rankings
T-Mobile -- 108
AT&T -- 101
Verizon Wireless -- 100
Industry Average -- 100
Alltel -- 99
Sprint Nextel -- 92
The 2007 Wireless Customer Care Performance Study-Volume 2 is based on responses from more than 10,500 wireless customers who contacted their carrier's customer care department within the past year. The results are compiled from the past two reporting waves, which were conducted in January and April 2007.

Added a phone - bill was supposed to increase by $29 - next bill was, like, $675. Agent Fred fixed it.
Next month, bill is, like, $469. Called and found out Agent Fred wasn't authorized to fix it, but Agent Jill is - turned out she wasn't either, yada, yada, yada...
Added a third phone later - they forget to hook it to the existing account again - here we go...
You've never heard any of these kinds of stories? Every Sprint customer I know can rattle on for hours about them...
Verizon, on the other hand... I've NEVER heard one thing about. Everyone loves them!
Good luck with the lag! Maybe it'll be fine in your area.

I have it online right now... will see how it does.
I like! No lag.... 1068 kbs download 530 kbs upload without tweaking RWIN yet...
Verizon does have a monthly BW limit Daniel. Measly 5GB, after than 200kbs only download after that. Just will d/l the big files on dsl at work. Sprint is unlimited. I can see Verizon changing this one of these days.
I am getting 4 full bars of reception at my house on my PC. Using a USB modem. The newer USM150 - no routers available for it yet. Have the wait for the guys/gals at http://www.evdoinfo.com/ to get the firmware updated on one of the routers. Will have to ICS till then.
Still, 200kbps is MUCH faster than Dial up! I just did a test on my sprint EVDO card and it is pulling 915kbps down and 610kbps up...
Let me know how it goes!

I have ICS working on the network.... All sites work on networked computers except update.microsoft.com. This is weird. Works on my main pc with the modem in it.
