    Another server move?

I just got an email from support.

    Hi,
We at JaguarPC are working hard to increase the level of performance of our client's webhosting services. To accomplish this, we are moving your account to our new, upgraded server. We at JaguarPC, along with customers already on the new server, have noted significantly good performance.

The Transfer process would be smooth and without any down time and all the information will be transfered. We will keep your data on the old server for couple of days and after confirming that everything is transfered we will terminate it from the old server. We will update you when the transfer process will be completed. Please let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,
    Steve | Technical Support

Why am I being moved again? it was only a couple of months ago I was moved and only recently the server was updated and so forth.

No idea, what server is this for? I'll get someone from ops to fill in the blanks here.

This should part of the regular server load balancing. If you are comfortable with the load on your server, you can ask them not to move.

I would have no idea, however I'm fine to be moved if its really needed!

    server is geonosis.nocdirect.com

umm BTW, can't get to CPanel because the disk space is running out on that server!

So, if you are load balancing, what makes my site the ideal candidate to move?

Yes this server has disk space issue due to which some accounts are being moved from this server to other servers and some accounts have been moved already.

The accounts being moved are the ones which have high disk space usage, let me know your domain name and I can confirm.

the moves fine, but what I'm more worried about now is my IP address and why I haven't gotten any email since yesterday early afternoon when I should have gotten a few things since!

Are you (your email client) still pointed at the wrong (old) server's JPC name? secureXX.nocdirect.com or geonosis.nocdirect.com?
    Good luck

nope, I use web based mail (roundcube)

Its all been fixed. Well, I hope so.

Someone royally ****ed up my email in the move and lost the MX entry, so I could email people but emails wouldn't get to me.

Which is lovely, everyone is getting bounced email, I'm missing everything!

Way to move a site!!!! Two ****ing thumbs up really!

roundcube is good, simple, but good! I'm unsure of when the next release is, I tend to keep up on the updates but its slow development so, I've only had to update twice I believe.

its worth giving it a go if you want something web based!

it wasn't really an opinion, it was just a simple fact someone screwed up and I'm royally pissed about it, so badly infact that I struggle to actually have anything to say on it, supprisingly!

ya know, I'm really unsure of how to go about this.
For the about the third time in my life I'm truly lost for words to use to explain it!

I am unbelievably angry right now at support.

My site was moved because of space issues.
Once my site was moved the IP address pointed to my gallery and not the index page.
My email was screwed up and I couldn't receive email, but I could send it (I suppose thats the shiny side on this dollar)

But, after way to many tickets to support I FINALLY got through to them what was happening with my email and they fixed it!

    mmhmm they really fixed it.

    All my emails where deleted!
    From 200 to 8!
    ****ing joy joy!

AND they don't know how they deleted my email!!! WOW

Now, I'm being told they don't have backups from before they deleted my email (I think this is BS, there should be tape backups from later dates)

SOOOOO, I got disrupted, things got put outta ****ing wack, my email got ****ed over and... I get left being ****ed!!! (And you know, usually I wouldn't be so upset about that)

Had this been a hardware failure I wouldn't be so pissed, had this been from something outside of anyones hands, I wouldn't have been angery. But as it is, someone at Jaguar has screwed up my email and I'm left with nothing.

My backups are a little over a week old and I've lost some important email (and its taken 6 days to get to this point!)

Technical support really needs a phone number!
