Looking at the whole thread... http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...61#post5034061
and the person's whole reply:
You "helped" the person by giving them a link to a thread here on the Jag forum that required them to register in order to see it. While I wouldn't defend the person calling you a jerk, can't you see how they might get frustrated by your reply? You are the biggest jerk I think I've ever talked to. Why don't you stop spamming and frickin post how you did it.
The next time you hear a sound byte from a politician, remember this... Context is everything.
Hmm. Would this be better?Originally Posted by Ron

Well I didn't read that particualar thread but being a forum regular on a video forum I've seen my share of idiots. One thing that always got my ticker going was suggesting something and getting a response like "That's not it"... Not "I tried it and that's not it" but "I'm not trying it and thats not it".
If you visit any forum on particular subject you often read about problems that crop up from time to time that are not your normal everyday problem. I can remember one particular incidence where that happened, it was related to bug in XP where it would recognize certain PAL DV cams as NTSC. Rare because it was only related to PAL and only a few select cams. I had read about it in previous post and I think I asked the poster what type of cam he was using and got the "That's not it" response... Sometimes it makes we wonder why I even bother.
Heh!
The only person in the world that's figured out how to implement personal nameservers on 1&1 is yours truly - including 1&1 Tech Support, so called.
The only reason I threw in the '.info' example is to confuse the mavericks at WHT (and Ron evidently). Dot info domains are weird - ask Masood.
If those boneheads wanna know how to do it, they can register here, and look at the purdy pics. Otherwise, they can eat cake!
Seems simple enough to me!![]()

Yes, exactly! Thank you!
There is NO benefit to having private nameservers...
As a matter of fact, I've always liked 'ns.nocdirect.com'.
If you follow the etymology of 'ns.lenon.info' & 'ns.vindsl.com', you'll see that I registered those private nameservers on 1&1 simply to help a Jaguar PC client.
If they weren't so gay on WHT, I'd help them out too, but almost every time I get into a discussion over there, it turns into a food fight!![]()

You seem to be obsessed with gayness, but that's a discussion I don't want to get in to right now. But I do have my theories on why you are so obsessed with it which I'll keep to myself.
And if every discussion you get in to ends up in a food fight maybe the problem isn't with them... Ahh, forget it.
