I dunno but the captcha for VB must be broken, do they use image captcha here?

Simple solution is add a human answerable question... e.g What's the name of ourcompany, it's in big letters in the upper right... buh bye spam...

I used that on a phpbb2 forum which were notoriously easy to get by the image captcha and didn't see a single spam bot for better than year until I switched to phpbb3. They haven't broken that image captcha yet but its only a matter of time.

Spam gives the Mods something to do. By the way have you reported the spam?

Ya I've been noticing more myself. I usually click the 'report post' button if I run across any.

Comes and goes. These recent ones posted an unusual number of (identical) posts. Most leave it at one - three posts. I guess a flood like that only motivates the mods to take care of it faster..

What is worse is that individual spammers are posting in more threads at a time. I think it was the day you started the thread I moved 25 spams from on user, and over 40 from another.

Well they are obviously bots because they post about 10 messages really quick. That means the captcha system is broke and needs to be fixed.

When I had phpbb2 which was notoriously easy to beat I installed a question captcha mod and spam dropped to 0 . Ive since moved to phpbb3 and that image captcha has not been beaten yet anywhere... at least confirmed. I've had handful of human spammers in the last 2 or 3 years.... I don't even require email activation. At least make them work for it.
