When i tried to get it via the "Check for Updates" option in Firefox it timed out but through the link in the opening post it worked (for me anyway).

I'm liking the new version, it's running smooth thus far.

No idea. I'm certain Mozilla has it noted somewhere as they're listing other curious records in a main download page sidebar. I guess we'll find out a 12:01 tonight.

Same here. Very smooth and quicker than 2.x. I'm not keen on the drop-down URL bar as it's a bit more cumbersome to me visually, and I'll need to wait for some add-ons to get updated to the new Mozilla. Overall, though, I like it already.

If it remains stable, then Mozilla will have outdone itself. Again.

I've been using FF 3 for months, since Beta 1. It's been the schlitz since day 1.

I even deleted FF 2 because every now and then a link/prog would open it instead of FF 3.

As soon as I tried 3, it was over for 2.

I updated seeing Grease Monkey was updated. Waiting for Tab Mix Plus & Drag de Go to get updated and all is well here. Updates for extensions are happening as we type... Just had two more in the last 5 minutes get updated.

Tab Mix Plus and Drag de Go are two I use every session and already are missing them.

Of course the all time best extension is ABP! Ad block plus. That one extension allowed me to switch from Maxthon and Proxomitron to FF 1.5x yonder back.

Just downloaded it myself, no problems with the download at all. Like Spath, I'm not crazy about the new location bar. As for extensions, the Web Developer Toolbar is already supported and a beta version of Firebug is out for Fx 3...a couple of other extensions aren't supported, but those are my most used. Aside from the location bar, I really like the interface and performance seems good. I haven't been using it long enough to judge stability yet, but so far I'm happy.

Tab Mix Plus is my favorite addon. There is a developers build that I'm using with FF3. Works for me with no problems. Get it here:

Stability has been superb from the days of Beta 1 - I've put it through the wringer with multiple windows open - and tens of tabs open in a single window - and left it running for days on end - without incident.

It's been a thrill for me to use from the get-go.
