    WinSCP keep remote dir upto date problem

    I use the winSCP Keep Remote dir upto date feature alot.

    often winSCP detects a change but does not actually transfer the file????????

    I have tried changing every setting I can think of even dropping back in to reg FTP mode thinking it was a SSH problem.

    Any Ideas as to what it could be. I end up having to close the connection and then reconnect, it works for a few transfers then stops again. It is very annoying.....

    Anyone else ever have this issue?

    I use WinSCP to do that all the time and I've never had a problem, at least not that I've noticed.

    No, but I'm not currently using that feature. I have had an issue with it years ago, which I reported in and got fixed very quickly. So if it is as reproducable as you describe, I can recommend to post a bug report on it.

    If the remote file has a percent sign (or perhaps some other characters) they get translated strangely so each time a sync is done it thinks the previously transferred but now local file is out of date and wants to delete it, and the remote file is again downloaded with a new name.

    There is an option to shut of the translation of special characters on the
    Options -> Preferences -> Transfer
    Select "No Change" under "Filename Modification"

    I hope this is your problem... If not, I tried
    Good luck
