Talking Question Of The Month :-)

    Hello everyone,
I'm popping in here because this is the place for answers to my questions.

Here's my Question of the month...
(re: domains, sub domains or masking?)

I've noticed online lots of real estate websites use domain names such as...
    123main-street . com, 589boulevard_road . com, 365south_st . com etc...

They use the houses address as domains and they have like 100's of them... my question is: WHAT are these? Are they sub domains, or masking or redirects or what?.. I want to do the same thing for my sites but I don't want to have to buy 100 domains of each house address for only a week or so. LOL
How do I make multiple domains like those to show on the web-browser without having to purchase 100's of domains and without showing my main domain?

    Thanks,
    Ms. Lambor

the way you listed it, that are full domain names and would required you to registrar, I don't know of any legit real estate site that lists things in that fashion, do you have a link to a real working example?

Yes that is a fully Qualified domain name, registered through YahooDomains in order to duplicate that you would have to registrar each house number.

The Question is why do they do this, I dont really see the value in it all.

    OMG.. THAT'S INSANE!
Buying domains for each of their listings?
I thought it was some new trick to it as there are literally hundreds of these type of domains online these days.
    Oh well, thanks :-)

The only way around that would be to abuse the 5day grace period, but this one is not doing that either as it was registered on 8/22 and today is the 28...

To them the marketing value of the domain/site must out weigh the $9 costs.... Considering that the sale of a $350,000 home could net the Realtor anywhere form $10-20K $9 seems insignificant
