I'm running Gran Paradiso 3.0.4pre with NoScript.

    http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o...-mozilla1.9.0/

    http://noscript.net/

Between the two of them, that site is rendered useless...

Gee "who'd a thunk" a no script extension would render a JS site useless.

Some cool stuff the *first* time but I believe that's the authors intentions.

I don't think it's meant to be practical, just there to show off the power of javascript.

Vin, why do people insist on browsing the internet with things like flash and javascript turned off? Do you have an old computer?

Because 99% of the time when someone that actually knows about computers gets infected its bacuse of scripts/flash or other junk that is usually completely unnecessary unless you're running a media site.

    You crystallized my thoughts exactly...

As ta said, you guys need to get with the times. If you are worried about javascript or flash infecting you that's certainly a valid point, which is why you should be running your computer using a limited account and only log in as an administrator when you need to install something.

Google maps I can agree, never used yahoo maps, gmail or yahoo mail. There's places it's indeed very useful but why the hell would you need it in email?

I see we are back to having to justify everything with "need"

I personally like the Usability and Look of Gmail, roundcube erc vs mail or other non-JS Mail Apps

It's not a matter of what I think, it's a matter of fact. I have a large number of cliets using this type of set up and I've only had to deal with a virus once. In that perticular case the virus was isolated to that user's profile and it took a 5 minute 'hijack this' scan to remove.

Spybot Search and Destroy, Spyware Blaster and Avast - no problems in years on my system. Maxthon browser has some active x protection built in too. I now use Firefox and zero problems.
