    WordPress 2.7

    Vin mentioned this in another thread but...

    I upgraded to WordPress 2.7 today, and I like it!

    The new interface is much easier to use. I like the menu on the left compared to the confusing menus that were on the top in previous versions. The ability to customize what boxes you want to see and where you want them is great. And finally WP can upgrade itself!

    I was also able to drop two plugins (Automatic Upgrade and Advanced Tag Entry) making my install a little leaner.

    Has anyone else tried it yet?

    I've been using it since Beta 1 and like it. The Automatic Upgrades for WP itself as well as plugins do fail sometimes requiring a manual download but overall it's a good feature.

    I was s-h-o-c-k-e-d when I upgraded last night - MAJOR improvement!

    I've been playing around with WP for a few years now, and it just keeps getting better n' better...
    DISCLAIMER Any resemblance between the views expressed above and those of the owners and operators of this system is purely coincidental. Any resemblance between these views and my own are non-deterministic. The existence of Vin DSL is questionable. The existence of views in the absence of anyone to hold them is problematic. The existence of the reader is left as an exercise in the second-order coefficient.

    I guess I should have said, a MAJOR improvement in the interface...

    Evidently they're getting it ready for a paradigmatic shift in functionality.

    The old interface was sooo 90s, you know?

    2.3? Yikes! With software as popular as WordPress, I try to stay up-to-date to avoid the security vulnerabilities if nothing else.

    Since the new version includes the ability to auto-upgrade, that should help.
