I need URGENT support help please

I filled in a ticket on 2002-03-24 19:24:48 regarding the transfer of a domain and have had no reponse. I am waiting for Aletia to help me transfer a domain. I have tried to do this myself but the link in the support manual gives me a page not found error! I posted in the forum that this page could not be found but Aletia have done nothing to make sure their internal links work in their manual.

My site can no longer be accessed because my contract with my old host has now ended and Aletia have not helped me with the transfer of the domain name. I am now worried that I will lose the domain name.

Aleltia this is terrible service! I need you to contact me and help me with this problem. Your ticket system is not good enough if request for help is just ignored!

    Hello Jan:wavey:

    1. What is your domain name?
    2. Who Hosted this domain for you?
    3. Did you purchase the domain originally 'yourself', or did the hosting provider purchase it for you?
    4. I assume you did tell your host where you needed the domain to. (Aletia's nameservers)
Unless something is unique about them, they should be happy to help you. The very least you could do is re-up your domain listing with them for another year. That way you are covering your own rear, as we should do. :agree:
    5. Who is the Registrar of your domain name?

Other than the above, kindly and considerately update your support ticket... maybe even create a new one.

Let us know, what info you do have... maybe someone can steer you better, if I haven't helped.

Mods will move this thread maybe, as it is not in right forum, just preparing ya, ok...

My old host has told me to ask my new provider to arrange for the domain name to be transfered to them. I guess they didn't know how lousy the support was here! My domain name is chesscorner.com. My old host purchased the domain name for me and web fusion hosted the domain name.

Jan, please Aletia has suffered enough... and are about fed up as well. Okay? Along with a whole slew of the rest of us.

Here again, have you not attempted to contact the company where your domain was purchased?
(the company that your host bought it from)

If not, Why not find out... so you dont have aletia to blame this on. BTW, support does not suck around here. Several server troubles, and one or two Ignorant people made it seem that way. This will be the concensus of aletias customers, dont just take my word for it.

Steve, my domain name is registered with VeriSign. I need some information so I can transfer the domain name myself. I need to know the Primary Server Netaddress and the Secondary Server Netaddress.

I have two accounts with Aletia and in the past I have been very pleased with them. Their support in the beginning was one of the reasons I signed up with them and moved one of my sites to them. Unfortunately things seemed to have changed recently.

I am very willing to help myself and look for information but when their support manual pages are missing and I get no reponse from them then it is very difficult to do this.

    Jan,

Sorry if I seemed condescending to you. I do have an uncanny talent to do so without intending on it.

Here is where they should point to, Jan

    (ns1.aletia.com and ns2.aletia.com)

No offense taken, Steve. Thank you for your help so far. When I go to VeriSign to initiate the transfer they ask for Primary Server Hostname which as you say is ns1.aletia.com and the Secondary Server Hostname which is ns2.aletia.com but I also need to know the Primary Server Netaddress and the Secondary Server Netaddress. How do I find out what these are without bothering Aletia?

Jan, I am stumped if that is not enough to transfer

Run a whois and see if I missed it. I use samspade.org for my whois and IP info

You could use verisign to do this too.

    Hi Jan,

The netaddresses are 216.118.67.98 and 216.118.67.99 respectively for ns1 and ns2.aletia.com. Let me know if you have further questions. Also let me know the ticket number for this request.

Thank you Dana. I did a whois lookup on the name servers and found this information myself. I was just returning to tell Steve that I'd found the information I needed. Thank you both for your help.
