Aletia Tanking???What?

I have been on vacation for the past 2 weeks, and came here and noticed that there was something wrong with aletia, and that many people were looking for/found new hosts? what gives? i've paid a year in advance (about 7 months left) and really dont wanna change hosts cos i think i would have issues with GM and other stoof..... can anyone give me a straight answer? i've been really happy with aletia....

Some people are having problems, mostly on a couple of servers in particular. Personally, I haven't noticed any decline in quality of service...then again, I don't host a business site here, mine's just personal. It seems the support staff is getting back on top of things, and the problem servers are being dealt with. I don't foresee any "tankage."

Every business has problems.

Seeing how they're dealt with will tell a lot. I notice Aletia has just updated the status of the Scorption move. I find that very helpful.

My opinion is wait and see.

Here's a problem and the reason I am looking into new hosting.

I quit a lower priced hosting service because their support sucked.
But the speed in which my site ran was excellant. It only went down once in the two years I was hosted there.

I have been hosted here for 2 months and my site has gone down twice last week and that's just the times I have noticed it.

Since I am in developement stage I am the only one on my site and it runs slow about 65% of the time.

I have a cable connect and with only 32 people on my node so I know it isn't me.

I have never been so disappointed in a hosting company. Even some of the free php, mysql services are faster.

I'd go with one of those but they can't supply the band width I am going to need when I get my site running smooth.

Well Aletia is a mixed bag, I think. Its great for personal sites, price and everything. However, if you can't afford these random downtimes, then its best not to be here.

That 17 hour email downtime has really killed me. I have a business site on my account, and well, a lot of critical information was lost. I can't afford a repeat offense, hence I'm transferring my domains. If it was just my personal site, I would stay here.
