    Looking for a NEW Host?

    Hi All . . .

If anyone is looking for a new host, you may want to check out: http://webhostingtalk.com/ and look in the Web Hosting Forum. There are reviews of hosts and if you have any hosting questions, this is the place to go!

Ironically, there is a recent thread there called "What's the Deal with Aletia?" at:

    http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=44684

That's where I found my new host, at WHT.
The host I chose claimed setup in 15 minutes
or less. It only took 3 minutes. They except all payment methods. And if you want to pay by check or money order, they will set up your account before you even mail your check.

    Good luck to you all!

I don't have my "moderator" hat on as I write this (and I'm not a mod of this forum anyway). But I'm not sure that posting specific names here would be appropriate consdering the context.

Anyone replying with specific names, please consider just sending a PM to doasinfinity. Thanks.

    Speaking from my own experience,

This "potluck" sense in getting your support tickets answered. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Or if they do, sometimes it takes 5 minutes, sometimes 5 weeks.

Unannounced downtimes. And then afterwards, no official announcement as to why it occured either.

Users have to depend on OTHER users to get "answers."

I'm still a client, but honestly... reading all the things on here makes me want to pack my bag. And that seems to be the mentality that a lot of other Aletia clients I know are having also.

But of course, there are others who will vouch that this is a heavensend webhost or something like that.

I'm sticking it through for a little bit longer... but if things continue like this (on a downward spiral)... I'm outta here.

This is unfortunate and most hosts struggle with this as the chosen support system tends to lean toward the ticket system as it is easier (Generally) on the staff supporting the customers.

Outsourced support might help Aletia, and would allow them to clean up their support times right away, while keeping their bottom line manageable.

Im noticing a few key players going this router and aletia's ears are hopefully open to this direction.

Thank you for taking the time to write as I believe that sums up every hosting company customer frustration, information.

We are so excited about gaining information as quick as a click we forget live support still takes a human's touch.

That human (Or collection of humans IE: Aletia Support Staff) can be overburdended and slowed.

    (Im rambling, dang espresso)

    Thanks again.
