Hey, timechange. This is as good a place as any to ask this (even if it's in English): what font do you use to coreectly view your Greek posts? I always see scrambled characters, and I'm an NT (i.e. double-byte character set) user. Just curious.Originally posted by timechange

I am using Windows and have added Greek as the extra language. That pretty much solves it; otherwise add that encoding to the browser default.

Yeah, I'd seen that post; something about PM's, too, right? I don't think it's the case here, just that my system doesn't know what to do with the extra byte information.Originally posted by timechange

That did it! I just changed the encoding to ISO and Windows, and both worked. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that the page as a whole is Western European, but some sections are Greek.I am using Windows and have added Greek as the extra language. Of course, I still don't understand it (though I took a year of Russian and can at least make out some sounds). I'm just a cat with two of its lives left...![]()

The only Greek I know is transliterated, and goes like this:
Thah ethela enna cafe, parogolo.
Does that make any sense to you?
Any guess why I learned that many, many years ago?
Ron, because you are a coffee addict?
When was it that you visited Greece, BTW?

There was a cute girl behind the counter down the street from where I worked.
I thought that I'd impress her.
So after I asked for "some coffee, please", when she responded with a stream of Greek, I replied:
"Micros".
then after another stream of Greek, I just chuckled and said, "Just cream".
I think she bought it.
But alas, her Dad wasn't as impressed, and I was too shy to ask her out, with her father standing there with that big knife, and all...
I wonder what ever happened to my little kukla...
Oh man you must have had some serious crush on this girl.
