    Have I been patient?

I put this helpdesk request in this morning:

I am tired of dealing with the poor service on Puma, yet I don't want to leave Aletia Hosting. Puma is very slow and I'm not getting any web statistics. I have a friend who moved over to [server name] and I would like to be moved there as well.

    Thanks,
    Jon
    Here's the responce I recieved:

    Hi,

There were some upgradation and restructuring going on, on the server puma. That could be the reason for your difficulties. Could you please be patient and incase you face any problems in future, we would definitely consider moving your account elsewhere.

    Thank you.
    Have a nice day.
    Regards,
    Sharon.

Thanks for responding so quickly Sharon. This isn't really a new problem. I have been very patient. As you can see, the log analyzers on Puma have not run since March 8. That's well over a month ago. They were turned off in order to help Puma perform better, according to Ron (who answered a previous ticket of mine). The problem has really been going on since mid-February. So, I have been patient for 2 months now.

I would prefer to be moved now. But at most I will be patient for 2 more weeks until the end of this month. If things have not cleared up by then, I would like to be moved to another server.

    Thanks,
    Jon
My question is how much patience should I have? I realise that's a subjective question, but haven't I exceeded the most reasonable definition of "patient"?

To add to it, this will be the 2nd time I've moved servers at Aletia Hosting. I moved to Aletia Hosting in October of 2001. I was set up on Scorpion. For those of you who don't remember, Scorpion was having major issues (as it is now again, from what I read). I asked them to move me to another server. Now, I'm on Puma, which was quite nice. If you've been reading the forums regularly, you know that Puma isn't having a good time now either.

    So, have I been patient?
    What would you do?
Would you stick it out on this server?
Would you demand to be moved to another server?
Would you start looking for another hosting provider?

Seems to me you've been quite patient. In this you've said you will wait till the end of the month, so maybe around the 28-29th if it isn't fixed ask them if they will be moving you on the 30th or should you be finding another host.

You've given a generous timeframe, you've stated a couple of options that are reasonable - fix the one you are on so that you get what is stated in their plan, or move you, how much more reasonable can you get?

J you have been patient in the extream..

But i think you should wait it out untill the end of the month if things have not been fixed tell them that you would like to be moved

if the refuse then ask them again (Politly but Fearmly) that you would like to be moved..

There a company they will refuse so they don't have to create more work for them selfs But i can tell you it only takes 3 minutes to move an account (you get a new IP too.. Well at least i did) and all it's settings ...

    Anywho.. bla bla bla )
