Fun, it's a blank page. Anywho, two things.
- This isn't the right cat. to post this in
- This is just my personal view, but this is an Aletia Support Forum, not a find another host forum. If you want to do that, I suggest you visit WHT <http://www.webhostingtalk.com
I'm not going to lock this because Aletia hasn't taken a stance on this, but please...this is a support forum for Aletia clients.

Very interesting. Did you check out their reseller plans?
indeed interesting... but I'd research first...
Where do you wanna go today?
Dogma, my personal opinion is that right now, there are many dissatisfied customers with Aletia, and many are looking hopelessly for relief. I think in the long term, it is in the best interest of everyone, including Aletia, make the customer happy. It's like that Progressive Insurance commercial. They'll tell you if they can find an insurance quote cheaper elsewhere(Don't know if it is true or not, but the concept of customer satisfaction is still there.)
Anyway, my point is that when a host has a lot of problems, I don't think it's out of line for unsatisfied customer to help out other customers by letting them know of some options. People who are happy with Aletia won't be steered away by these posts, and people who are not happy will deservedly find a way out.
And yes, it may put a smudge on Aletia's reputation for the moment, but if people don't know about Aletia's problem and sign up, they too can experience the problem and will further ruin the reputation. I think it is much more important for a host to be taking care of current problems and customers rather than worrying about not getting enough new customers. It is much harder to win back a customer loyalty than a new customer.
Yes, that was quite a mess and very disorganized. I'd be glad if any part of it made any sense.
cfactor,
I agree with you somewhat, which is why I didn't close this. I understand the "we want you to have the best hosting experience, even if it's with someone else." But also, this is a support forum for Aletia customers. I guess finding them an alternative host falls under support.
I also think that there are tons of better resources/places to look for other hosts. I linked to one, WHT, and their are many others. WHT has a volumenous archieve of info on hosts and it's also focused on hosting.
But post away I guess...

Well, it looks like they're pretty new still.
Not necessarily bad, but I'd certainly try to find out more about them if possible before forking over any money.
Their domain name was registered in August of 2001.
They appear based out of Scarbourough, Ontario.
Their forums have very little in them. That's always a red flag for me. There's an old adage about being able to tell the pioneers by all the arrows in their backs. Good to be leading edge, but not necessarily bleeding edge and all that.
Dogma offers some good advice about looking into WHT.
Always remember your experience with a host may differ considerably from others who post in these forums.

Actually, July 5, 2000. The date of the registration of the AletiaForums URL is not the same as their company URL <http://www.aletia.com/>.Originally posted by lookout

I've been with them since May of last year and I have rarely had a problem (after they moved from their old NOC that is).
Could you please expand on this comment more? I don't really understand it. I was the second person (besides Aletia people) registered here and I've seen a ton of stuff in the 8 months since.Originally posted by lookout

Dogma,
I think you misunderstood my post. I wasn't referring to Aletia. I was responding to the original question, requesting thoughts on cyberpixels.com as a possible hosting alternative.
To put you a little more at ease....
IMHO, Aletia's forums are mighty active, and show a realistically wide variety of opinions and experiences. No red flags on that. I'd be more suspicious of a host that either has only positive comments, or very little in their forums. Smells like either censorship or very limited experience to me.
And yes, as you say, Aletia's domain creation date is listed as July 5, 2000. Still a bit of a newbie if you ask me!![]()

If you read there forums you'll find out more about them. Basically there not a real hosting company in a sense. They have 2 dedicated servers and are just reselling. They said thereselves that there mainly for people with blogs and personal sites, not businesses.
Nomsane?
That is all.
