    OT: hardware problem (ram) help!

I have 3 sdram slots in my motherboard, until now I have had 2 of them in use, one 128mb (133) chip and one 64mb (100) chip and everything worked fine.

Well today I added 128mb (133) more. and that seems to be the bigest booboo of the year. now I can only get the comp to recognize one chip at the time. so instead of having 312mb of ram I have 128mb.

any ideas what can be the problem?

*** the 133 and 100 is the speed or whatever for the ram

Do you have the manual for your motherboard? Many times they will only accept certain combinations of RAM (be it size, speed, etc.). I know my motherboard can only accept two PC133 chips whereas it could handle three PC100 chips...

Yup, try to not mix differents memories. It could become your system unstable.

My suggestion, try to test your system with other memories, and test your memories with another system other than yours This will help to clarify where the problem resides.
