I wouldnt reccommend updating to 4.2.0 so soon after it got released, there are surely bugs that will be found. I would wait for 4.2.1.

Yeah, my server has PHP 4.06. There are other servers with updated versions though... By now, I don't need newer PHP versions, but it's always good to be up to date

Did this get taken care of? How about the other machines? I'm on Cobra, and wouldn't mind the update if possible!

I'm on Cobra also, and will be needing at least 4.1.0 pretty soon. 4.0.6 is JUST old enough that its starting to be unusable by some things.

Would be pleased with an update.

Fortunately, we have 4.1.0 on cobra.

My use of php is at the level of dipping my toes in. But I thought that you might like to know.

I opened a ticket a few hours ago and Lijoe replied me telling that they were going to ask for permission to upgrade the PHP version for me

I suggest you to do the same if you need an updated PHP

    whoooo hoooooooooo

    Thanks Julian,

A short while back, I do believe I had ruffled a few feathers about asking for a php upgrade on tiger. Perhaps it is about to happen.

This post has no sour connotations about it, just glad that we are getting to that point where Ron will have the time needed to do this.

He had stated to me, that it was in the works... he just could not give me a set time of when to expect it.

Ah yes, so we do. And all this time I thought we were using 4.0.6, it seems my control panel (and most likely others) merely hasn't been updated to reflect that change. I just checked and on the main page it still says 4.0.6 - clicking on the "I" icon reveals the true version: 4.1.0. Thanks.

Sure -- just chalk this one up to happy ignorance. Because I never paid attention to the control panel, I only thought to look at the results on the dedicated page. Heh.

well, starfish has PHP 4.0.6 I need at least PHP 4.1.2 to install OpenBB forums. I'm not gona use the XMB board that comes with aletia, its just not as great as some of the other ones, like PHPBB2, or Burning Board, Ikonboard, and others. Wanted to try OpenBB, but cant ...also, a new forums software thats not released yet might need the new PHP, and this one is sweet looking, and of course, the admin features matter as well as the board features. Its www.ibforums.com ...I cant wait to try it.

I want vbulletin, but I dont want to spend the $$ for it, dont need it, just want it
